
Library Hours
To obtain an Orange Public Library card please bring a valid form of photo identification and proof of your current Orange residency (e.g. mortgage statement, lease, or utility bill). For children, please bring a copy of their birth certificate, school ID card, or report card in addition to their parent or guardian's valid photo ID and proof of residency. Library cards are issued on site by our staff. Accepted forms of photo identification include: valid driver's license, passport, or state issued identification.
Membership to the Orange Public Library includes membership to the Reciprocal Borrowing and Lending (ReBL) system with participating Essex County libraries.*
If you are not an Orange resident but you own property, work, or attend an Orange school you are entitled to a Courtesy Card. To obtain a Courtesy Card, please bring a valid form of photo identification and proof of property ownership (such as a tax bill), proof of employment in Orange (acceptable forms include: a pay stub or current letter from employer), or your school ID. Courtesy Card holders are able to place item-level holds on materials owned by the library that issued the Courtesy card.
If you live in one of the participating ReBL townships and wish to borrow materials from the Orange Library please obtain a current ReBL sticker from your home library and bring a valid photo ID so we may register your card in our system.
*Please note: Borrowing and lending policies vary by library.
The Library accepts payment for fines in the form of cash or check.
The Library accepts book donations.

If the book or media item desired is not at the Orange Public Library, speak with the Reference Department to obtain the item through another library, if possible.
